Who we are and why we do what we do

At the heart of our charity community centre, the Hanworth Community Association spearhead the daily operations and management, diligently working behind the scenes to nurture a welcoming space for local groups.

This dedicated team comprises enthusiastic volunteers, unified in their commitment to ensure the centre remains a vibrant hub for community engagement and collaboration. Leadership within the association is provided by an executive committee, which includes pivotal roles such as the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary, each contributing uniquely to the centre’s success.

Central to our ethos is the belief in collective input and decision-making. Therefore, we convene Local Group/Community Association meetings, inviting a variety of voices to the table, including representatives from local groups and Bracknell’s Town and Borough Council, who are eager to contribute to the community's fabric.

These gatherings are pivotal, offering a forum to address concerns, brainstorm enhancements, and plan for upcoming special events that knit our community closer together.

Highlighting our annual cycle of engagement, the Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a cornerstone event, held each year in October or November. This meeting is a reflective pause, presenting a thorough report on the year's endeavours and forging ahead with the election of executive committee officers for the new year, ensuring our centre’s governance remains fresh and responsive to our community's evolving needs.
